Preparations are well under way for our 38th annual Bug Jam, taking 24th to 27th July. As always, we want to keep you informed about the event and what to expect in the local area.
Gates open on Thursday at 2:00pm–8:00pm for early arrivals, and again on Friday from 7:00am to 11:00pm. While we do anticipate an increase in traffic flow during these key arrival periods — particularly Thursday and Friday — we are working closely with local authorities to manage traffic effectively.
This year’s event is expected to be busier than previous years, with good advance ticket sales. To accommodate one-day ticket holders, additional car parking will be provided at El’s Piece, off Airfield Road, on Saturday and Sunday. You may notice increased vehicle activity in that area on those days.
Due to the nature of the Bug Jam audience, we do not anticipate issues with anti-social driving. Nonetheless, police will have a presence both at Santa Pod and on the surrounding roads throughout the event to help ensure safety and good behaviour.
There will be live music on site, with our main stage running until 11:00pm and indoor music concluding at 1:00am. Music will also be coming from the funfair, which is a regular feature of Bug Jam. As in previous years, our sound engineers will be monitoring noise levels in nearby villages and feeding this information back to the site team in real time, so we can make adjustments where necessary — taking into account wind direction and other environmental factors.
Sunday is departure day, and as usual, attendees tend to leave gradually throughout the day. We do not expect any major traffic disruption as a result.
